Inside Sentiments: The best gifts of the season are given from the heart.

This Christmas greeting card shows Santa driving his train full of toys. These whimsical cards are entirely hand-painted in designer’s gouache (opaque watercolor) by Dee in a realistic, yet stylized manner with much attention given to delicate details. Inside sentiments are written by Dee.

This set of seven different designs capture subjects that are very appealing, creating the warm feeling of the holiday spirit. Each of the cards are rich in detail and color, measuring 5 x 7. Included in the set of 14 greeting cards (two of each design in a set) are cream-white, vellum finish envelopes packaged in a clear box. The cards were printed in 4-color, off-set lithography (before I went digital) and printed on high quality, acid-free white card stock.

In the set of 14 Christmas greeting cards are Santa Claus driving a train full of toys, another old fashion Santa ice skating on the smiling cresent moon, a snowball angel, snowman, snowlady and a Mardi Gras Christmas Jack-in-the-Box.

These Christmas cards are only sold in a set and not available individually. They were published and distributed by DevaArt Studio and available for sale at DevaArt Studio online gallery store.

It was a blessing in disguise when I was laid-off from my job in ‘corporate world’ where I worked for 5 years as a graphic designer. It gave me the chance to start my freelance art business called DevaArt Studio. Yes, it was scary but I love working for myself. I never looked back either…bye, bye ‘corporate world’… was music to my ears.

This is the largest studio I’ve ever had. When I moved here, I had the unfinished basement made into my art studio. Purple is my favorite color so the walls are very light purple and the floors are purple/light gray squares and the more paint spills, the better! I always love seeing other artists’ studios and how they are set up and the lovely ‘messes’ we all can make with our mediums! Following are some pictures I took of my studio and the various work areas I use. I cleaned up a bit for the pictures…

This picture shows an area where I paint large canvases in acrylic. It’s definitely neater than what it usually is! Its right next to the door that lets in lots of natural light.

Here is another picture that shows some more painting tables that I use for the large canvas area.

More Painting Tables

This is an area where I paint my stained glass paintings on a large light box.

Stained glass painting table

This is my large art file that I’ve had for 20 years. It holds my illustration boards, work I’ve completed and some not completed plus drawers of other much needed art ‘stuff’! The paintings are of my dad (done by another artist) and a watercolor I did of my mom.

Dee’s Antique Art File

This photo shows my work area where I put together anything that needs it. Mostly framing for my stained glass paintings.

This picture is the neatest and most relaxing part of my studio. The purple phone is retro and my favorite color. I also love dragonflies and the table was my grandmothers, full of art books and magazines.

If any of you readers who are artists’ have some pics of your art studio please show them when you comment… Thanks!

Making art is a spiritual journey for me and has always been a consuming creative passion in my life. It is similar to a form of meditation, filled with serenity and peace blended with awe-inspiring colors that delight my vision which make me want to paint a work of art that people will relate to emotionally.

I am a very independent artist (trained in fine art, graphic design, web design, illustration), a “terpsichorean” and most passionate about my art, which is a very deep part of my spirit that weaves itself throughout all aspects of my life.

Many of my original fine artworks can be seen and purchased from my online art gallery where they reproduce the art as giclee prints. You will be able to choose from various sizes and substrates to have the artwork printed on such as museum quality archival matte paper, watercolor paper, canvas and several others. Custom framing is also available.

In the top menu, if you click on Home it will take you to my art website, devaart.com. If you click on Contact it will take you to my contact page on my art website. By clicking on the Gallery link you will be taken to my fine art online gallery where you can purchase my fine art paintings as giclee prints.
