Art Creates Calm Environments: Discover How

Art creates calm environments in your home or workplace. How do you feel when you look at a piece of art, for example, a painting or sculpture? Viewing art can produce tranquility and peace of mind, as well as a sense of calmness. Who doesn’t want or need that?!

In times of uncertainty (like we are currently having) that creates a lot of anxiety for many people, art is especially needed. I connect deeply with many different paintings, for instance, the work titled, Flaming June. This artwork was created by Sir Frederic Leighton in 1895. A reproduction of this soothing painting hangs in my bedroom. It really does bring me a sense of peace every time I look at it.

I love visiting art galleries and museums. I’ll never forget when I viewed Luncheon of the Boating Party by
Pierre-Auguste Renoir. It moved me to tears, I was so overwhelmed, but in a good way. This good feeling stayed with me as I was so engrossed in this painting. I looked at it for at least 30 minutes and could not get enough of this remarkable work of art.

You too can see this beautiful painting! It is displayed in the Phillips Collection at the Phillips Memorial Gallery in Washington, D.C. Seeing this painting positively uplifted me in more ways than I’ll ever know. It’s time for another trip to this gallery and to see one of my favorite works of art!

Connect To A Calming Artwork

Silky Waters (above image) is a watercolor I painted which has a very calming aura about it. The silent moving fish and the soothing blue-green colors create a tranquil feeling. These lovely tropical fish swim gracefully in and out of the picture plane. The shapes of the fish are free flowing and colors are softly naturalistic. I own the original because I couldn’t part with it, but you can own this serene painting reproduced as giclee fine art prints. Available at devaart.com.

How Art Creates Calm Environments In Your Home or Workplace.

Creating art or crafts helps to focus your mind. To illustrate, I get in a meditative state when I paint my intuitive artworks. Therefore, it has calming effects and can help to lower stress and anxiety. You don’t have to be an artist to create!

Coloring books made for adults are a wonderful tool to help relieve stress. They are not the kind of coloring books made for children. The artwork produced in these coloring books are beautiful. You can buy them almost anywhere. Give it a try to calm down a tough day you may have had!

If you want to create a calming environment in your home or workplace, think about buying a piece of art! It can promote a sense of healing every time you look at it. Your connection with the artwork is also important. Art is very personal and you will know if you have a connection with the artwork.

Serenity Brings Calmness

Serenity, the original alcohol ink painting seen above will be for sale after I mount it and ready to hang (no frame). This painting was created in greens, yellows, blues and oranges (the butterfly) in the medium alcohol ink which waterproof and permanent. Several UV varnish coatings are applied to protect from dust/dirt. The flowers, greenery, dragonfly and butterfly are very peaceful and serene images. Serenity is a little jewel of a painting may be just want you want to look at for a piece of calmness in your life. For instance, you could hang it in a cozy nook that you’ll pass by a lot. The image size is 5″ x 7″.
